Busy lady, dirty house?

When I was growing up we did cleaning chores on Saturdays. I have a lot of siblings, so everyone was assigned a chore to be responsible for, and the house was clean by the late afternoon (most weeks.) But as an adult with my own house. My current schedule and lifestyle is that Saturdays are BUSY, and week nights are not consistently free for a set time to do chores.

Please don’t think we never clean the house! I keep my house fairly tidy, but we do have trouble remembering the last time we did things like mopping the living room and changing the furnace filter. We needed a system.

And so, I present to you… The “Chore Tracking Sheet”

Chore Tracking Sheet

How-to Use:

  • Print horizontal orientation at 100% scale on card stock.

  • Post it up in a common area (like on the fridge.)

    • Laminate or do what I did and tape the printable to the back of a clear dry erase board (I use this one.)

    • Or just use a pencil and eraser and magnet it to the fridge. You don’t need to be fancy.

  • Write in date chores are done (Monthly chores can be month/year (example: “May ‘26”)

  • Wipe away and write in the new date when it’s time to do a chore again.

The Benefits:

  • Never forget the last time you did a chore!

  • An all-in-one place for chores, trash schedule, and honey-do list etc.

  • Your partner/kids/roommates will never ask you “What chores need to be done?” or “What can I do to help around the house?” again!
